Serge is assistant production manager, he’s 49 and lives in Den Helder. He ended up at Teeling Petfood via a former colleague and has now been working here for some 16 years.
An all-round colleague
We make pet food at Teeling Petfood, including hamburgers, sausages and other types of pet food. Although it doesn’t smell like a Dolce & Gabbana perfume here, you quickly get used to it.Serge takes on a wide variety of tasks. Sometimes he works in the office at the computer and at other times he works in the production hall. In production, there are so many different jobs to be done as well as lots of opportunities for advancement. For instance, you can get to work on mixing or producing. Most colleagues are all-rounders here, so you don’t work on one thing all the time. After all variety is the spice of life!
Friendly atmosphere
We have regular outings at Teeling Petfood. For instance, we organised a great BBQ for all colleagues last summer; outside in the sunshine enjoying delicious food, drinks and a DJ.
I also speak to several colleagues outside working hours. We call each other and talk about what we’re doing in our time off. What’s also really special, is that I found love here. We’ll be getting married soon.
